Mind Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
Mind is made by Pyrean B.V.
This policy is short because Mind does very little with your data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server run by us. We do not receive your voice, your words, your insights, or anything else from the app.
No recording is ever made
This deserves saying first, because most apps that listen do not work this way.
Mind does not record you. Sound goes from the microphone into the speech model on your iPhone one small buffer at a time, is turned into text, and is released. No audio file is created — not in the app's storage, not anywhere, not during a capture, not while one is paused, and not after it is saved. There is no recording to find, to export, to leak, or to hand to anybody.
What Mind keeps is the text: the words it heard, and the note it wrote from them.
What Mind keeps
Your insights. The title, the note, the shelf it went on, when you captured it, whether you spoke it or typed it, and whether Apple Intelligence wrote it up or you did.
The words as you said them. Kept under each written note so you can check what the app made of what you said. You can switch this off in Mind's settings under Your Words, and switching it off also removes the words from every insight already saved.
All of it lives in a single file inside Mind's own storage on your iPhone, which iOS keeps encrypted and which no other app can read. It is not synced to iCloud and not uploaded anywhere. It is included in your iPhone's own encrypted backup if you make one, because that is how iOS backs up an app's files.
Where the listening and the writing happen
On your iPhone. Both of them.
Your voice is turned into words by Apple's on-device speech model, and Apple Intelligence turns those words into a title and a note using the on-device model as well. Nothing is sent anywhere to be transcribed or written up.
Mind does not use Apple's Private Cloud Compute, and there is no setting to turn one on. That is a deliberate limit rather than an oversight: a cloud option would put an asterisk on "nothing you say leaves this iPhone", and this is an app for private thinking.
The first time you use a language, iOS downloads that language's speech model from Apple. That is an ordinary software download and carries nothing about you. After it, listening works with no network at all.
On iPhones where Apple Intelligence is unavailable, Mind still writes down every word you say and you give it the title yourself. Nothing is analysed anywhere.
Estimates, not transcripts of record
The note Mind writes is one model's reading of what you said. A misheard word can invert an idea, and a tidy-up can lose the part that mattered. Everything is editable before you save it and afterwards, and the words you actually said are kept underneath so you can check.
Mind is a notebook. It gives no advice, makes no diagnosis, and is not a substitute for talking to a professional or to somebody you trust.
What we receive
Nothing.
Mind has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. It makes no network requests of its own at all, apart from the App Store checks below and the one-time language model download from Apple. We have no way to see your insights or how you use the app.
Apple's own App Store Connect reporting gives us aggregate figures — downloads, subscriptions, crash counts — the way it does for every app on the App Store. That is Apple's data, collected whether or not an app cooperates, and none of it is linked to a person or says anything about what you wrote.
Paying for it
Capturing insights is free, unlimited, and always will be. What is paid for is looking back: the free tier shows the last seven days, and unlocking shows every insight you have ever captured. It can be bought monthly, yearly, or once.
Purchases go through Apple. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name. What Apple tells the app is one thing: whether this device is entitled. That check happens on the device itself — the app reads a signed receipt locally and verifies it there. There is no subscription server, because there is no server.
If you stop paying, nothing is deleted. The insights outside the free week stay on your iPhone exactly as they were; the app simply stops showing them until you unlock again.
Sharing
Nothing is shared automatically. There is nothing in Mind that sends your insights anywhere on a schedule, and no sharing tab.
Sharing is something you do to one insight at a time, from that insight's own screen, using iOS's own share sheet. What goes is the title and the note, as plain text, to whoever you picked. Where it goes after that is between you and whatever app you sent it to.
Children
Mind is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since we collect nothing at all, there is nothing for us to hold or delete.
Deleting your data
Deleting the Mind app removes every insight stored on your device. There is no copy anywhere else to restore from, and nobody to ask.
Changes to this policy
If Mind ever starts doing something this policy does not describe, we will update this page and note the date at the top. We will not quietly widen what the app does with your data.
